I Have Failed!

Below is an announcement that I just made to the Boston Banking and Financial Services Professionals Group that I run on Linked In.  It is regarding an event that i needed to cancel. Please let me know your thoughts on making and creating better events that cater to Banking and Financial Services Professionals

Good Morning, 

I hope everyone is doing well and had a great weekend and was able to get a taste of how their summer will be. 

Secondly, I have to admit that I failed and I want to apologize! 

Due to the lack of interest, the small number of professionals signed up and being less than 10 days away, I have decided to cancel the Boston Banking and Financial Services Professionals networking event for June 4th in Boston. Most often I have been able to get together a great group of individuals to connect, network, and to make some great contacts while enjoying great food and drink at a pretty cool place; this time I wasn’t able to do that. Typically I am not one to throw in the towel, this time I needed to, and I have spent a number of hours wondering why I wasn’t able to pull it off. 

The questions I have asked myself: 
1. Is June 4th too late in the spring? 
2. Is the location not right? (Battery Park Restaurant, Bar, & Lounge) 
3. Is the price for Admission to high? ($20) 
4. Have people become immune to Linked in Announcements? 
a. Does emailing direct work better? 
b. Are there other social media channels that work better? 
5. Has it been too long since the last event? 
6. Would there be more interest in smaller more intimate events? (Luncheons, Breakfast, Master Mind Events) 
7. Are there any other reasons? 

As many of you know, I am passionate about bringing together successful people and seeing what they can do and I would love to continue to do that in the future with more events.
