It isn’t always about large lifestyle changes; many time those are impossible to sustain, but small incremental iimprovementscan make the biggest difference in the world. A .5% change compounded throughout the year, will be astronomical in 365 days!
For me personally I am going to be focus on being more proactive. (1 more call, 1 more rep, 1 more better meal/day) For the last number of years I have been very reactive vs. forward thinking. This will allow me to gain control of my personal and professional life instead of being held captive to circumstances that can easily spin out of control. I am really looking forward to these changes and I believe that they will make a huge impact over the course of 2016 and beyond. What are you going differently in 2016 to achieve your goals? What small things can you do right now that will make this minute, hour, day, week or year awesome!!!

Where did the idea come from that we can get everything we want now???
Yes, we can order pizza from an app, get money from a machine, or ask Siri any question we want and get an answer, but did all of that technology just magically show up?? The things that make our life faster, quicker and better, took years and years to develop, but somehow we think they just showed up and worked. Which has now created a mindset of instant gratification. Everyone wants to lose weight now, make money now, be faster now, but are not willing to work for it. Those that work the hardest, have patience, fail and try again become the best athletes, Dr’s, Nurses, Teachers, business people etc… Instant gratification doesn’t exist, if you think it does, try to win the lottery! If you are patient, willing to put in the work, and grind away, you will eventually beat those that are the one hit wonders. Just remember that the diesel engine that takes longer to warm up, but pulls harder, has more strength and will eventually last longer and beat the gas engine will burn hotter initially, but wear out. Be the diesel engine! Be patient, and use your power of patience and hard work to get to your goals!- Ken Does it matter? Of course it matters! Everything little thing you do matters. If you do 100 negative things in day, your day will be negative. If you do 100 positive things in a day, your day will be positive; pretty simple, but not easy! Goals are reached by taking small deliberate steps each and every day. You gain momentum and confidence without realizing it and before you know it, you are better than you were. (eating clean, saving the extra dollar, working out when you don’t feel like it) The same can be said about negative actions. (Having the extra beer, buying something you don’t need, complaining) Just like Newton’s First law: An object at rest stays at rest and an object in motion stays in motion with the same speed and in the same direction unless acted upon by an unbalanced force. Ask yourself: Which direction do you want to go in? - Ken There is only one now. Saying now to someone is a commitment, saying now will make you take action, saying now will take you out the past and the future. If you act now, you will get it done. If you don’ t it is just another thing on the list that keeps on piling up. If you get it done now, there is no need for lists! -Ken
It is all we have! It is our most valued resource and is also the most wasted!
Have you ever seen the person who is waiting to die? You may not realize it, they surrounding us all over the place. They are waiting for the world to come to them, they are at the bar complaining how hard they have it, they are complaining about how their sports team lost, they are waiting to win the lottery, they believe that the raise should be given to them, they feel entitled, but aren’t willing to work for it and are just wasting time waiting; waiting to die, vs. taking responsibility for living. The successful person is grabbing the bull by the horns, hold themselves accountable, utilize every minute possible to become faster, better and smarter. They use “NET” time; No extra time, to learn, to stretch, and grow. They listen to books when they drive, they have their running shoes in the car ready to go, they take action. They know that their only real commodity is time and that any minute that is squandered is being used by others to faster, better, and smarter than them. What can you do this minute to live the life you want to live? It can all change in a heartbeat, just have the courage to make it happen! Think!
Most people don’t, be among the few that do, you will separate yourself from the pack! We live in a world of reaction vs vision. Taking 5-10-20 min a day to think about a task, problem, or goal, will allow you to reach the end result much quicker than just reacting. That is what separates the leaders the from the followers, the Leaders “Think”, the followers “React” be a thinker and you will be among the few who do vs. those that don’t. Do you have the will to Jump Higher?
Do you have the will to make the one more phone call? Do you have the will to run the extra lap? Do you have the will to do one more rep? Do you have the will to say I love you? Do you have the will to smile? DO you have the will to do what it takes to go one 1% more? If you make small steps each day towards improving for 1 day, 1 week, 1 month, 1 year; think of where you will be 365 days from now! You won’t recognize the person you once were! The best part of growing incrementally, is that you don’t need to change drastically, you can do it under the radar, while slowly picking goals off along the way! The is one of the most effective ways of reaching to the top! |
